Welcome to The Fortitude Project!

Iโ€™m Sarah and Iโ€™m honored you are here. The seed for this community was planted after an immense personal loss on my 27th birthday. It shook free foundational beliefs that had consistently informed my mindset, and how I lived my life.

A mentor of mine told me that she believes we go through the valleys we do in order to become equipped to help others walk through those same valleys. Her words changed the way I looked at what I was experiencing in my life, and I got passionate about repairing my own heart so that I could share not only my struggles, but also the healing journey I went on with those whom it could benefit.

My hope is that I can share these practical tools along with my own stories of overcoming in order to bring value to your journey. That you will find community through vulnerability here at the Fortitude Project. That you will find a friend or two who have walked through the same valley as you. And that you will discover that no matter where your life has taken you, you are worthy and capable of developing extreme fortitude through small everyday choices.

Habit: a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up

Lifestyle: the way in which a person lives

These 3 concepts go hand in hand. We have to make a firm decision, or resolution, to build a positive habit or break a negative one, and the outcome of that decision to create or break a habit results in our lifestyle, or, the way in which we live.

How do we want to live? OR a more important question I thinkโ€ฆWho do we want to be?

Because when we know who we want to be, how we live follows suit.

Once we have a clear vision of who we want to be, we are able to work backwards to figure out the kinds of habits the person we want to be would have. Then we can resolutely commit to those habits as itโ€™s more about building an identity than a habit.
